Hummer H3 Serves As Memorial

The Mother of a fallen soldier vows to keep the memory of her son alive through a customized Hummer H3 Memorial. Karla Comfort, whose son Lance Cpl. John Holmason died with nine other Marines in a blast in Fallujah, Iraq, in December, had a Hummer H3 painted with the faces of the fallen personnel as a memorial.
Comfort of Scappoose, Ore., stopped at Camp Pendleton and the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego yesterday on her way home from Arkansas, where the Hummer was painted for free by R. Powell, a veteran from Benton. The Marines, from the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, were stationed at Twentynine Palms, and Comfort will return there in April for a memorial service.
